Anthony Donnelly

I have just returned from Western Alberta to Ontario where I held Mid-Day Host, Music Programmer and Assistant Producer for YL Country, a radio station in Peace River, Alberta, I’ve successfully earned my graduate certificate and diploma in Radio Broadcasting at Seneca and York University. 

 

Originally from Toronto, my position was an Afternoon Drive/Assistant Producer on our All Hit music station, KIX FM. Having the ability to adapt and work in various positions, I was promoted to Mid-Day Announcer, Music Programmer and Producer for YL Country.

 

After gaining  my expirience with Peace River Broadcasting, I’m hoping to bring what I’ve learned, along with my various talents, to your already successful team.  I Hosted a compelling Mid-Day show that focused on engaging the listener, including the listener, selling the Promo, bringing my personality into all breaks, and focus on local.

 

 I have always had the ability to know what song should be next, and taking on the role as music programmer had given me that responsibility. 

 

My creativity , ear for sound, and  desire  for  perfection with  mixing  lets me create commercials, with  a  great ability to speak many accents for voice character work that k is entertaining.  I have a strong online presence during the show to involve the listener while capturing and editing audio, video and photos for social media platforms.

 

I work best under pressure in fast paced environments with challenges fuelling my drive.  I am a strong personality on and off the mic. Winning over clients, customers, and people in the community on location and at public appearances is  also a strength.

 

Outside of Mid-Day hosting, I created a weekly show “Irons in the Fire” that is a one hour interview program featuring up-and-coming Canadian artists.  As the creator and host of Irons and Fire, I’ve earned a professional reputation as a promoter and supporter of Northern Alberta music labels.

 

Additionally, I also featured a weekly bit called “Taking It to the Street” where I literally “take it to the streets” to gather points of view from local community members on hot topics and current events.  In doing this, I’ve honed my interpersonal skills that have now served me well as the host of our on-air buy sell and trade show titled “Tradio.” 

 

I am an ambitious team player who will bring a positive, self-starter attitude to your workplace. I’m driven with the desire to be the best in the industry, and the enthusiasm to be actively involved in your community.
